Awards and Accolades
Witchcliffe Estate is a property blessed with gravelly, loamy soils, abundant rainfall and established vines. The location deep in the Jarrah and Marri bushland of the south west combined with careful pruning, irrigation and fertilisation has resulted in top quality fruit. Originally, the grapes were sold to other wineries in the region; the current owners set their son, John, to work bringing the vines up to the standard where the production of the first Witchcliffe Estate wines were possible after five long years.
The label was developed in 1994 and the cellar door opened in April, 2007.
In our first year of opening we were voted in the top ten new wineries in Australia by James Halliday in his 2008 Wine Companion.
Since then, we are proud to have collected medals for a range of our wines, from The Rutherglen Wine Show, the Qantas Wine Show, the Blackwood Valley Boutique Wine Show, the Perth Royal Wine Show, the Cowra Wine show, the Royal Melbourne Wine Show, the Margaret River Wine Show, Cairns Wine Show, and Wine Wise Small Vignerons Wine Show.
